Tortuguero is the wettest area in Costa Rica with an annual precipitation of 6000 mm. There is no dry season although it rains less in February, March and September. It is a good idea to bring rainwear and umbrella any time of the year. The average temperature is 26 degrees Celsius or 79 degrees Fahrenheit but it is usually hotter in the middle of the day.
